Aminess Vival Velaris Resort, 4* on the island of Brač (you can get there by ferry from Split, but be careful! The ferry is not one of the biggest and we happened to be unable to get on it on a Saturday in June, even though we were there more than an hour in advance, we had to wait 2 hours for another one), is located in a quiet bay, surrounded by a rich Mediterranean garden with more than 16,000 plants. It is about a 20-minute walk from the center of the town of Supetar with shopping opportunities. You will immediately be captivated by the scent of oleanders, lavender and pine trees - an ideal place for romantic souls and nature lovers. You can park in the fenced area of the hotel for a small fee.
If you see any negative reviews on the internet - the resort has been owned by the Aminess Hotels chain since 2025. The hotel has been completely renovated, so it is no longer true that the rooms have outdated furniture or that cleaning is not done. Everything was in perfect order.
Location and beach
The resort is located right by the sea, in a quiet bay with a concrete pier and a transition to pebbles or sand, shade provided by pine trees. I recommend taking water shoes (or you can walk from the pier). The sea is beautifully clean and clear. The hotel sun loungers are limited, I recommend taking your own sun lounger if you are driving. Alternatively, you can rent sun loungers and parasols a little further from the hotel. The local beach is rated for its cleanliness, peace and atmosphere. I liked that locals, especially the older generation, gathered here in the early evening to swim and chat. There is a hotel bar on the beach, otherwise there are bars along the entire length of the beach. The grocery store is not far from the hotel on foot. Large hypermarkets are then within driving distance on the hill above the port. The best place to eat is at the end of the beach towards Supetar.
Accommodation
The hotel offers modern rooms of various categories and apartments in the villa, adjacent buildings and the main hotel building. From the rooms located higher up you can see the sea, otherwise you have a view of the beautiful garden. The rooms are spacious, newly furnished, with balconies. Cleaning is done daily. Every day we received a bottle of water and upon arrival a welcome bowl with nuts and dried fruits.
Equipment of the superior double room with sea view and balcony no. 217:
small refrigerator, air conditioning, safe, kettle with instant coffee and a selection of teas, mugs, plates, spoons, seating area on the balcony incl. drying rack. In the bathroom there is a hairdryer, hand soap, shower gel and shampoo in one, glasses.
Food
Breakfast and dinner buffets are served in the Oliveto restaurant - a very pleasant atmosphere. You can sit in the air-conditioned dining room or outside on the terrace overlooking the garden. There is always a choice of hot and cold buffets - salads, fruit, side dishes, soup, hot dishes. For breakfast, fruit, vegetables, porridge, cereals, omelettes, eggs in various ways, cold cuts, cheeses, jams, dried fruits, nuts, Nutella, honey, bread in an egg, beans, hashbrowns, pancakes, various milks, yoghurts, pâtés, etc. The selection is really decent. What I didn't like very much were the powdered juices from the machine and only drip or instant coffee. Drinks are charged for dinner. Occasional evening program in the dining room and on the terrace.
In addition to this restaurant with half board, the hotel also has a lobby bar and a beach bar.
My tip:
Our favorite beach bar was Fruit Land Cafe just a short walk from the hotel. Great cocktails, especially my favorite strawberry frozen daiquiri, craft beer, smoothies. And in the evening, a beautiful seating area with a view of the sea with lights on the pine tree. With attractions for children too.
Facilities and services
The resort features an outdoor pool with sun loungers, a wellness area with a sauna, massages and a fitness centre. Water sports, diving and canoeing are also available. The upper terrace with comfortable seating is ideal for evening relaxation with a glass of wine. Cleaning is provided daily.
Summary
If you are looking for a peaceful, romantic resort with rich vegetation, direct access to the sea and relaxation options (wellness, swimming pool) – Aminess Vival Velaris is a great choice. Ideal for couples and quiet families who want a combination of nature, comfort and beautiful surroundings. There is absolutely nothing for children here, except for a smaller pool, I would probably choose another Aminess hotel.
