If you love nature and ride a bike, you must definitely visit this hotel or apartments and enjoy the beauty of the Jizera Mountains. When we were here, we stayed in apartments, the hotel was just being built, at the end of 2021 a new spa and wellness center is to be opened, so the stay will be even better.

In 1907, a lookout tower was built on Nekras Hill, which was called König's Lookout. It replaced the original wooden tower, which stood on top in the years 1888 to 1906, when it burned down. The 24 meter high tower soon became one of the most famous lookout towers in the Jizera Mountains. In 1934, a mountain hut with a restaurant and accommodation was built in its immediate vicinity, and in the years of normalization, additional accommodation buildings and garages were added. In June 2013, a complete reconstruction began. The intention of the new owner was to renovate the Královka complex so that it could once again serve the general public. Using modern building technologies and materials, they wanted to get as close as possible to the original Královka.

Královka's location is truly extraordinary. It is located in a quiet location on one of the hills of the Jizera Mountains and blends in with the surrounding forests and nature. Not only from the lookout tower, which is a part of it, but from the whole area there is a beautiful view of the protected landscape. Fans of classic skiing will appreciate the location directly on the route of the Jizera Highway offering a 200 km long cross-country track. And bike lovers will appreciate the well-marked bike paths, of which there are many in the area.

There are a total of 22 apartments. All provide plenty of privacy, space and modern, mountain-style apartments like in the Alps. The main element in the interior is wood, which adds a feeling of warmth and harmony with the surrounding nature. Apartments Královka are fully equipped - including a kitchen with all amenities for those who do not want to be dependent on the hotel kitchen. There is even a capsule coffee machine, but there were only a few capsules, so it is better to take yours. However, you still have all the services available at Královka, including both restaurants.

In the renovated building of the old Královka you will find a hotel and 9 double rooms. They are located on the first floor and attic, in the same building as the Royal Restaurant and SPA.

Hotel review

I can recommend apartments Královka with a clear conscience to all lovers of our beautiful mountains. There are many places for walks, hiking or cycling trips. The apartment buildings also have their own bike shed (ski storage in winter), where you can hide put bike.

The apartments vary in size, from one bedroom to three bedrooms + each has a living room with kitchen. In summer, I recommend taking the apartments on the ground floor, as they have beautiful terraces overlooking the forest. If you want romance, you can also book an apartment with an outdoor hot tub. As you can see from the photos below, the equipment is really stylish, new and beautiful. The price included breakfast in the hotel restaurant, where hot food is sold throughout the day, there were also min. two more restaurants within walking distance, at the Premier Hotel and at the Presidential Cottage.

There is a playground for children, and as a treat you can climb the Královka lookout tower and enjoy the beautiful views of the surroundings. During the season, it is necessary to take into account that there will be a lot of people on the weekend, it is a popular tourist place. We were there in June during a week and no one was anywhere, great.

Do not stop at the public car park, inform the staff that you are accommodated and let you drive directly to the apartments.

We also cycled around part of the "Jizera Fifty", but it was necessary to go there by car. However, even directly from the apartments you can go straight by bike ... you just have to reckon with the fact that you are on a hill, going down well, going up is worse :) In the next article I will describe some other bike path for inspiration.

You can also drive to Ještěd, Liberec or Jablonec nad Nisou. Not far from Královka (better by bike) is the large Josefův Důl dam. We also reached the Frýdlant chateau by car, which is really beautiful.

So, as you can see, doing what, many trips around, for athletes and non-athletes, especially to keep the weather going. We would like to come back here sometime and take a look at the wellness when the covid time is over :(
