Restaurant Eremitaž does not have its website, but you can make a reservation on the link above, which I highly recommend, there are not many tables and the restaurant is quite popular, the garden was always full. Get a table by the railings, they have the best view of the harbor. Alternatively, search for the restaurant on Facebook. The restaurant is only open for dinner, from 6-11 p.m.

If you visit the Croatian island of Hvar and stay in the town of Stari Grad, there are certainly many restaurants here, but we chose this one based on the reviews and we liked it so much that we went here twice during our stay. It is one of the closest restaurants to the hotel Places by Valamar, which is about a 10-minute walk along the promenade around the sea.

According to the photos, you can see that the Eremitaž restaurant is located in a historic house, which does not look like a restaurant, but in the summer you sit mainly in the beautiful outdoor garden, which is above the promenade, so you have a beautiful view of the sea and the entrance to the harbor. Precisely because many ships are moored here, the restaurant is often full. It took us about half an hour to walk from the hotel to the center of the town, so this was the closest, it is not yet directly in the historic center. The restaurant is immediately followed by another restaurant, closer to the hotel, which has a garden more or less at the level of the promenade, so don't sit elsewhere, the Eremitaž is just around the corner and you have to go up a few steps, the garden is on the right before the entrance.

What if you can have something good here? Of course, Croatian specialties, grilled meat, seafood, salads, local wine, but we beer lovers boldly ordered beer, thinking that we would have Karlovacko or Ožujsko, as always, which are not exactly exciting. They had an excellent beer from a Zagreb microbrewery called Zmajska pivovara, they have a dragon in their emblem...and it was luxurious!! Both in terms of taste, it was not oversaturated.

So we tried the clams with shrimps (if they have the white shells, get those instead, they are softer than the classic black ones), chicken steak in gorgonzola sauce - although it is not a typical Croatian dish, it was so well seasoned that something like I haven't eaten anything good for a long time, the pljeskavica from the grill was excellent, and the desserts...what can I tell you :))

I must also mention the really nice service. Thanks to the Dining around service from the Places by Valamar hotel, we also received a discount on spending at this restaurant. It is also possible to pay by card here. And here are a few photos, it's a shame that you can't taste them, you just have to visit in person.
